Klaus Baumgart (singer)
Klaus Baumgart (* 2 September 1954 in Oldenburg ) is a German party hits - vocalist and from the beginning (since 1983) member of the pop duo Klaus and Klaus . He published his solo projects and an album with presenter Harry Wijnvoord under the name The Great Klaus .
Life
Baumgart initially completed his professional training as a retail salesman , worked as a DJ and, in the late 1970s, as head animator at the Punta Arabi holiday club on the party island of Ibiza . In 1979 Klaus Baumgart met Rainer Felsen, who later became his producer. He released his first record under the name Dixie .
He became known together with Klaus Büchner in the formation Klaus and Klaus . There is a horse in the hallway was her first hit. A little later, the song An der Nordseeküste ( cover version of The Wild Rover ) , Der Eiermann and There are only one Rudi Völler were other hits.
From 1990 to 1993, Klaus Baumgart was Vice President of the VfB Oldenburg soccer club . In the first year of this presidency, the club was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . In 2009 he left the club when VfB repeatedly failed to get promoted to the Regionalliga Nord . He also personally attacked the club (board, coach and team) in a television report. He was then also excluded from the club.
In 1995 he sued the German satirist Oliver Kalkofe , because he called him "Freund Speckbulette " in his program Kalkofes Mattscheibe . It later became known that the lawsuit by Baumgart's management was only launched for PR reasons.
In 1997 the band split up and Klaus Baumgart looked for two new colleagues. Klaus and Klaus continued as a trio for two years, then again as a duo Klaus & Klaus and supplied the Ballermann and après-ski huts with songs. In 2008 he had a role in the novel Meat is My Vegetable . In January 2013, Baumgart was one of the candidates for the show Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here as a replacement for actor Helmut Berger ! . On January 19, he was chosen by viewers as the second candidate from the show. After his intimate zones in the jungle camp had become partially visible, he forced a new recording of the song Der Eiermann .
