Klaus Dill
Klaus Dill (born October 6, 1922 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ; † February 19, 2000 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German painter .
Life
Klaus Dill was a nephew of the impressionist Otto Dill , who did not support him. Klaus Dill made a name for himself as a painter of film posters and book illustrations . Best known are his illustrations in Karl May's books and the covers of the youth magazine Pete and the comic book Bessy . In addition, he drew covers for the comic series Lasso Western , FBI - G-man Bruce Cabot and Mark Strong - Der Mann von MATT , as well as for the paperback series Young Readers and the book series Tom Prox . In 1997 he became a film award winner (gold). In 1999 the Landesbildstelle Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart dedicated an extensive solo exhibition to him, in which, among other things, a 12-part Tecumseh cycle was shown.
