Klaus Robert Evertz (born May 23, 1944 in Krefeld-Hüls ; † May 13, 2016 in Krefeld) was a German politician ( CDU ) and lawyer.

Life

Evertz attended elementary school and grammar school in Krefeld, which he completed with the Abitur. After attending school, he did his military service from 1965 to 1967 and left the Bundeswehr as a first lieutenant in the reserve. He then studied law and political science at the University of Bonn . In 1967 he became a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Bavaria Bonn in the CV . In 1972 he passed the first state examination and in 1976 the second state examination.

Evertz was admitted to the bar in Krefeld in 1977. In 1985 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and in 1991 the Cross of Merit 1st Class. From 1987 to 2004 he was a member of the board of the SWK Stadtwerke Krefeld AG .

Political offices

Evertz, who had been a member of the CDU since 1962, came as a successor to the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament on April 5, 1971 . At the time he was one of the youngest members of the state parliament. 1985 to 1987 he held the post of deputy group leader. He resigned from the state parliament on May 30, 1990 after more than three electoral terms.

Partly in addition to his state parliament mandate, Evertz was from 1970 to 1973 and from 1975 to 1987 a member of the council of Krefeld, from 1982 to 1987 as chairman of the CDU council group. Between 1970 and 1972 he was also a member of the landscape assembly of the Rhineland Regional Association . Other party offices were held by him:

  • State chairman of the Junge Union NRW (1972–1977)
  • Member of the state board of the CDU Rhineland (1971–1987)
  • Member of the Presidium of the CDU NRW (1973–1975) and (1977–1981)
  • Member of the " Andean Pact ", a career network in the CDU

Voluntary functions

In his hometown of Krefeld in particular, Klaus Evertz did a variety of voluntary work:

  • Speaker of the board of the VKS in the VKU Förderverein e. V. of the Association of Municipal Cleaning and Waste Management in the Association of Municipal Enterprises e. V.
  • District manager and member of the state board of the DLRG NRW
  • Chairman of the City Sports Association of Krefeld
  • Member of the main committee of the State Sports Association of North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Board member of the Krefeld racing club 1997 eV
  • Chairman of the Greenland Citizens' Association
  • Member of the Board of Trustees of the Krefeld Foundation
