Klaus Frühhaber

Klaus Frühhaber (* 1939 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ) is a German officer and major general retired . D. of the army of the Bundeswehr .

Military career

Frühhaber joined the Bundeswehr in 1958 and was trained as an infantry officer. From 1961 to 1969 he worked as a platoon leader, S2 / S1, lecture hall officer and company commander. After completing the general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in 1972, he was employed as a general staff officer in the Panzergrenadierbrigade 17 in Hamburg and at the command academy . Then he led the Panzergrenadierbataillon 332 in Fürstenau from 1977 to 1978. Afterwards he was in the command staff of the army for training and then for press work with the inspector of the army. From 1982 to 1987, Frühhaber was a staff officer at the Chief of Staff FüS in the Federal Ministry of Defense, course participant at the NATO Defense College in Rome and department head for operations planning and management at Army Group Center ( CENTAG ) in Heidelberg. Then he took over the Panzer Grenadier Brigade 32 in Schwanewede (1987-1990).

After serving as a commander, Frühhaber was Chief of Staff of the III. Corps and for the remainder of 1994 Chief of Staff in the Army Command in Koblenz. He then became commander in Defense Area IV (Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland) and commander of the 5th Panzer Division in Mainz.

During this time, from 1996 to 1997 he was also the national commander of the German contingent, deputy commander of logistics (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and commander of logistics command (Croatia) at SFOR on an international assignment.

As Deputy Commanding General of the II. (German-American) Corps and commander of the corps troops in Ulm , Frühhaber retired in the spring of 2000.
