Holger Kammerhoff

Holger Kammerhoff (born March 5, 1945 in Sankt Andreasberg ) is a retired German Lieutenant General . D. of the army of the Bundeswehr . From 2003 to 2004 he was the commander of KFOR and from 2004 to 2006 he was the commander of the Bundeswehr operations command . In 2006 he retired.

Military career

Kammerhoff enlisted in the German Armed Forces in 1965 and was transferred to the 291 paratrooper battalion in Stetten am Kalten Markt . After he had completed his officer training, he was deployed in Nienburg and Lüneburg as a platoon leader and later as a company commander. From 1976 to 1978 he completed general staff training at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg . In the period that followed, Kammerhoff was the deputy head of the army command staff in the Federal Ministry of Defense . From October 1983 to March 1986 he commanded the 302 Panzer Grenadier Battalion in Ellwangen . After that, he was a staff officer (G3) at the headquarters of the Central Army Group ( CENTAG ), the NATO - High Command , which is responsible for the defense of Central and Southern Germany. From December 10, 2001 to September 3, 2003, Kammerhoff was the fifth commanding general of the Eurocorps in Strasbourg , France . He then took over the management of the Bundeswehr operations command in Schwielowsee near Potsdam , which he held until he retired in 2006.
