Heinrich von Behr
Henry Alexander Ferdinand Baron von Behr (June * 13 . Jul / 26. June 1902 greg. In Rönnen ( Kurland ); † 14. August 1983 in Bonn ) was a officer of the Wehrmacht and later the armed forces , most recently in rank of major general .

Military career
From the beginning of January 1919, Behr worked as a volunteer in the Iron Division and in the Baltic State Army .
On April 1, 1922, he joined the 16th Cavalry Regiment of the Reichswehr and embarked on a career as a professional officer. When he was promoted to lieutenant on December 1, 1926, Behr was transferred to the 6th (Prussian) cavalry regiment . a. Used as platoon leader of the news squadron. On October 1, 1934 he was then for a year adjutant at the higher intelligence officer of the inspection of the cavalry and was then as Rittmeister company commander in the intelligence department 39. From this post, Behr was recalled on March 31, 1937 and as a trainer for modern pentathlon and Course leader transferred to the Army Sports School in Wünsdorf .
With the start of World War II returned Behr in the troop service and became a company commander in the armored messages spare Division 81. Three weeks later, he was appointed commander of the news department 198. During the war Behr came on the Eastern Front in Russia and the Afrika Korps to Commitment. Most recently, from April 1, 1945, as major general, he was in command of the 90th Panzer Grenadier Division , which he had been in charge of since December 27, 1944. On April 28, 1945 he was taken prisoner of war , from which he was released on August 29, 1947.
Behr joined the Bundeswehr on September 3, 1956 as a brigadier general . From October 1, 1956 to December 7, 1959 he was commander of the 5th Panzer Division . Before his retirement on September 30, 1962, he was deputy commanding general and commander of the corps troops of the 1st Corps in Münster .
