Klaus Müller (handball player)
Klaus Müller (born January 26, 1938 in Berlin-Neukölln ) is a former German handball player and coach .
The 1.88 meter tall miller was deployed in the central district position. During his active time he switched handball from the large field to the hall.
He grew up in Milow in Havelland and started playing handball at BSG Chemie Premnitz . After starting his military service in Torgelow in 1955 , his talent was recognized during a sighting. Müller was delegated to ASK Neubrandenburg and in 1958 to ASK Vorwärts Berlin . He and his team won five GDR championship titles in field handball and a title in indoor handball in 1964 . After the handball club moved to Frankfurt (Oder) , he played at ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt until 1971 .
For the national team of the GDR Müller played at the field handball world championship (WM) 1963 , in which he was world champion with the team of the GDR , at the field handball world championship 1966 (2nd place), as well as at the indoor handball world championship in 1964 and indoor handball - World Cup 1967 .
In total, he played 49 international matches.
After his career as a handball player, Müller first became the boxer team leader at ASK Frankfurt, while he completed a distance learning course to train at the DHfK in Leipzig , which he successfully completed in 1976. From 1976 to 1980 he was assistant coach of the ASK's upper league team under Waldemar Pappusch . He was then responsible as the district trainer of the Army Sports Association (ASV) in the junior division of the Frankfurt Sports School.
Klaus Müller is married and has two children.
