Klaus Meul (born August 16, 1957 ) is a former German soccer player . The Bayer 04 Leverkusen amateur has played two Bundesliga games .

Career

Meul played for the amateurs of Bayer 04 Leverkusen and won the championship in the Association League Mittelrhein in 1980/81 and thus entered the Oberliga Nordrhein in 1981/82 , where he reached 5th place with the promoted team. In the 1980/81 season and in the 1981/82 season he was also used for a game in the Bundesliga . He had his first appearance in German professional football under coach Willibert Kremer on February 21, 1981 in a duel between the works clubs, in the 3-0 defeat at Bayer 05 Uerdingen . Before goalkeeper Fred-Werner Bockholt , he formed the defense with Jürgen Gelsdorf , Thomas Hörster , Peter Klimke and Klaus Bruckmann . At the end of the lap, Leverkusen finished 11th. In the following season, 1981/82, he was on the 1st match day, August 8, 1981, against FC Bayern Munich to coach Kremer's team. He also lost his second and last Bundesliga game (6: 2). Goalkeeper Uwe Greiner and his counterparts Walter Posner , Bruckmann, Gelsdorf, Hörster and Markus Elmer were unable to keep Bayern attackers Paul Breitner , Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Dieter Hoeneß in check. At the end of the round, Leverkusen took 16th place and only secured relegation against Kickers Offenbach.
