Klaus Nuremberg

Klaus Nürnberg (born February 27, 1929 in Dortmund ; † October 2, 2015 ) was a German metallurgist .

Life

Nuremberg studied mechanical engineering and metallurgy at RWTH Aachen. In 1951 he became a member of the Corps Montania. After graduating , he began his work as a steelworks assistant at Phoenix-Rheinrohr AG in Duisburg- Ruhrort in 1955 and became steelworks manager in 1963. After August Thyssen-Hütte took over the majority of shares in Phoenix-Rheinrohr in 1964 and then incorporated the Ruhrort plant, Nuremberg became deputy plant manager.

1968 Nuremberg with his dissertation importance of temperature and FeO -content of slag in the Kalkauflösung in basic SM process by the Technical University of Clausthal the Dr. Ing. PhD . From 1962 to 1964 he had already contributed his experience to the Siemens-Martin-Betrieb subcommittee of the VDEh steelworks committee. He was then elected to the Steel Works Committee, where he worked until 1979 and was chairman from 1971 to 1976.

In 1971, Nuremberg became a technical board member of Thyssen Niederrhein AG . There he promoted numerous new process developments, in particular the Thyssen-Niederrhein process (TN) for deoxidation and desulfurization in steel production.

In 1973 Nuremberg was appointed to the board and the board committee of the Association of German Ironworkers (VDEh) , of which he had been a personal member since 1954. From 1973 to 1977 he was deputy chairman and from 1979 to 1982 executive board member.

In 1982 Nuremberg became the spokesman for the management board of Blohm + Voss AG . From 1988 to 1990 he managed the business of the Society for the Promotion of the Economy in Duisburg . From 1995 to 1998 he was President of the German Association for Welding and Allied Processes. V. In 1996 he became Vice President of the International Institute of Welding in Paris . Most recently, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends and Sponsors of RWTH Aachen e. V. at.
