Klaus Peter Dannecker (born March 10, 1963 in Stuttgart ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Klaus Peter Dannecker attended the Hohewart Elementary School in Stuttgart-Feuerbach from 1969 to 1973 and the Leibniz Gymnasium Stuttgart-Feuerbach from 1973 to 1982 . He did basic military service (1982–1983) in Ingolstadt and Erding . Since 1982 he has had a private pilot's license for single-engine sport aircraft and gliders and is a flight instructor. From 1983 to 1985 he studied aerospace engineering at the University of Stuttgart .

From 1985 to 1987 Dannecker studied at Wilhelmsstift Tübingen and Catholic theology at the University of Tübingen . From 1987 to 1992 he attended the Pontificium Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum de Urbe and from 1987 to 1990 studied Catholic theology at the Pontificia Università Gregoriana in Rome , from 1990 to 1992 liturgical studies at the Pontificio Ateneo Sant'Anselmo in Rome. After being ordained as a deacon in Il Gesù on May 5, 1990 and ordained a priest in Sant'Ignazio di Loyola in Campo Marzio on October 10, 1991, he has led retreat courses and days of reflection since 1992. From 1993 to 1995 he was vicar in the Liebfrauenkirche ( Ravensburg ) and from 1995 to 1996 in St. Georg (Ulm) .

From 1996 to 2004 he completed a doctoral degree at the Trier Theological Faculty in the field of liturgical studies with Andreas Heinz . From 1998 to 2003 he was a research assistant and at the same time assistant in the scientific department of the German Liturgical Institute in Trier. Since 1998 he has been teaching as a specialist lecturer for pastoral liturgy in the practical theological course at the Trier seminary . From 2004 to 2007 he was a research assistant at the Trier Chair for Liturgical Science and also an assistant at the German Liturgical Institute Trier. Since 2004 he has completed a post-doctoral degree with the project The liturgical training of priests with Winfried Haunerland . From 2005 to 2006 he did a higher education didactic training in Benediktbeuern with Monika Scheidler and Oliver Reis. Since 1996 he has been pastoral workers in the diocese of Trier and in the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart .

Since October 1, 2007, Klaus Peter Dannecker has been professor of liturgical science at the Trier Theological Faculty and is head of the scientific department of the German Liturgical Institute in Trier; from 2011 to 2015 he held the office of rector of the theological faculty. His research focuses on the history of the liturgy of the former Diocese of Constance, pastoral liturgical training and its conception and aesthetics of the liturgy (WaeL).
