Klaus Scherer (born July 1, 1958 in Hochspeyer ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper and coach .

Career

Goalkeeper Klaus Scherer came to FC 08 Homburg in 1982 via 1. FC Kaiserslautern , FC Rodalben and FSV Salmrohr . He stayed there for many years and was able to celebrate promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga (1984) and twice promotion to the Bundesliga (1986, 1989). Another success was winning the German amateur championship in 1983 (2-0 afterwards in the final against the amateurs of Bayern Munich ). Except for his last season in Homburg, he was always the goalkeeper and played a total of 222 league games for the FCH. In 1990 he moved to Borussia Neunkirchen and later to SV St. Ingbert .

As a trainer, he looked after several amateur clubs in Saarland and West Palatinate. With the TV Althornbach, he became champion five times in a row as a coach.
