Klein Schauen ( Lower Sorbian Małe Sowje ) is a district of Storkow (Mark) in the Oder-Spree district .

geography

Klein Schauen is on the L391 between Philadelphia (Mark) and Görsdorf b. Storkow near the Grunewaldsee. The Mühlenfließ, which marks the border with the Busch district and flows into Lake Wolziger, runs on the outskirts .

history

The original name of the place "Windisch Schawen" was first mentioned in 1442.

The place, laid out as a round village, was mostly inhabited by farmers, whose farms were grouped around an estate. Until the middle of the last century the estate was used as a nursery and tree nursery . The village parish hall is located near the former estate. The oldest building in the village is a house made of field stones, the age of which is estimated to be 150 years.

There is a horse farm in Klein Schauen which offers various activities.

On January 1, 1974, Klein Schauen was moved to Görsdorf b. Storkow incorporated. On October 26, 2003 Görsdorf came to the city of Storkow (Mark). In 2008, Klein Schauen became a separate district of this city.

Culture

As in many other places in the area, camping in spring is a tradition in Klein Schauen .
