Kehrigk ( Lower Sorbian Keŕki ) is a district of Storkow (Mark) in the Oder-Spree district .

geography

Kehrigk is on the L74 near Bugk and Groß Eichholz .

history

Kehrigk is a street village, which was first mentioned in documents in 1493, adjacent to the nature reserve Milasee . The name probably goes back to Kerk or Ker , which means something like area with shrubs and bushes . In the street village, seven farms were handed down to us in 1518, a mine mill at a later date. In 1912 a water tower was built. In 1927 the volunteer fire brigade was founded. During the GDR era, a holiday camp was set up on Lake Milasee away from the village , where the country's children could spend their holidays. After 1990 it was left to decay. On October 26, 2003, Kehrigk was incorporated into Storkow (Mark) .

Sights and leisure

The former water tower in the village, which has been converted into a lookout tower, is worth seeing . The platform is open to the public from April to October. The view extends to the north to the 89.1 meter high Kolberg in the eponymous district Kolberg ; with good visibility also to the Rauenschen mountains . The Krausnicker Mountains can be seen in the southwest . In front of it there is a memorial for the fallen from the First and Second World Wars .

A castle in Kehrigk that was previously used as a hunting seat is now home to a children's country house with a 1.6- hectare park.

Kehrigk is a starting point for hikes or bike tours to the nearby lakes and the nature reserve. The Godnasee in the southeast of the Kehrigker district is designated as a nudist bathing lake.
