The Kleine Striegis is a left, approximately 23 km long tributary of the Große Striegis in Saxony .

course

The Kleine Striegis rises from several sources near Schönerstadt . However, the main source is located in a wooded area east of Home Village , where a broad but shallow valley they formed has. After confluence with the other springs, it flows north through Langenstriegis , which stretches for almost 4 km along the river. Behind the end of the village, it takes the Eulenbach coming from Eulendorf from the right and follows its course to the west along the striking rock face. After about 1.5 km it suddenly turns north again and continues through Berthelsdorf , which stretches for about 3 km along the river. The Kleine Striegis then flows through Hainichen , where the river played a significant role in the development of the textile industry in the Middle Ages . From Crumbach , the river strives towards the Great Striegis in a north-easterly, winding and narrow valley. Here she also takes on the Pahlbach coming from Ottendorf . Like the Pahlbach itself, this area is part of the 1995 hectare Natura 2000 area Striegistäler and Aschbachtal . In Schlegel it is on the high bridge between A 4 crosses. Finally it flows into the Great Striegis near Berbersdorf , which from here on is often called (united) Striegis .
