Győr small area

The small area Győr ( Hungarian Győri kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within the Győr-Moson-Sopron county in western Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . As part of the administrative reform, at the beginning of 2013 all 27 localities were transferred to the successor district of Győr (Hungarian Győri járás ), which was expanded by a total of 8 localities from the small areas of Csorna and Tét (3 each) as well as by one each from the small areas of Mosonmagyaróvár and Pannonhalma was expanded.

At the end of 2012 the small area counted 180,333 inhabitants on 742.56 km². The most populous small area also had the highest population density with 243.

The administrative seat was in the only city Győr . The city is equal to a county ( Megyei jogú város ).
