Mosonmagyaróvár small area

The small area Mosonmagyaróvár ( Hungarian Mosonmagyaróvári kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within the Győr-Moson-Sopron County in western Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, 27 localities were added to the successor district of Mosonmagyaróvár (Hungarian: Mosonmagyaróvári járás ), and the rural community of Mosonszentmiklós became part of Győr district.

The small area had 74,911 inhabitants at 930.66 km³ at the end of 2012, the population density of 80.5 was slightly below the county average (160.5).

The administrative seat was in the city of Mosonmagyaróvár (32.092 Ew.). Jánossomorja was another city (6.034 Ew.). The large municipality Lebény was raised to a city in mid-2013, the large municipality Hegyeshalom (3.407 Ew.) Is the third largest village in the small area.
