The Fürth Clinic is an academic teaching hospital of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . As an independent municipal company ( institution under public law ), it currently provides 771 inpatient beds (2017). In addition, it has 36 beds in the field of geriatric rehabilitation (according to Section 111 SGB V).

The Klinikum Fürth is a hospital that specializes in providing emergency care around the clock and treats around 39,000 inpatients annually with an average length of stay of around 4.8 days (as of 2015).

The clinical center of the city of Fürth was opened as the municipal hospital in 1931, replacing the old hospital on Schwabacher Strasse. Over the decades the Fürth Clinic has been enlarged and modernized again and again.
