Specialty

The fork-tooth moss (Dicranum tauricum) growing on tree bark (see also common fork-tooth moss ) was detected at one of the springs . Although this plant occurs frequently, the form found here is equipped with spore capsules and is thus unique in northern Germany. The spores that ripen in the capsules are spread by the wind. Apart from this source, these capsules in Germany have so far only been found in Thuringia and Saarland. Usually the plant only spreads with the help of broken pieces of leaf.
