The Schwarzbach is a right tributary of the Johannisbach (which is later called Aa ). It is located in north-eastern North Rhine-Westphalia in the area of the Gütersloh district and the city of Bielefeld .

course

The Schwarzbach rises in Werther (Westphalia) north of the Teutoburg Forest and flows in a south-easterly direction towards the city of Bielefeld. When it reaches the border with Bielefeld, the brook initially forms the western boundary of the Deppendorfer Wiesen nature reserve and only about 100 meters later takes in the Mühlenbach from the right in the Schwarzbachtal nature reserve . It then flows through the Bielefeld district of Deppendorf in the Dornberg district . The Hasbach is also recorded on the right about 600 meters outside the village . The Schwarzbachtal nature reserve ends about a kilometer further downstream, where the Mühlenmasch nature reserve begins adjacent and only separated by a road . Another 600 meters later, the eponymous brook flows from the left from the Beckendorfer Mühlenbachtal nature reserve . A little later, the Schwarzbach joins the Johannisbach from the left.

history

The Schwarzbach marked the border between France and the Kingdom of Westphalia between 1811 and 1815 .
