Knut "Buckla" Ruben Börje Hansson (born May 9, 1911 - February 10, 1990 ) was a Swedish football player . The striker took part in the 1938 World Cup with the Swedish national team.

Career

Hansson played for Landskrona BoIS in the Allsvenskan . The striker finished second in the scorers list behind Torsten Bunke from Helsingborgs IF with 20 goals this season in the 1932/33 season . Nevertheless, he rose with the club at the end of the season in the second division. Before that, however, he had played in the national team and on his international debut against the Lithuanian national team as a two-time goalscorer qualified the national team with a 2-0 win for participation in the 1934 World Cup finals.

After relegation Hansson had switched to league rivals IS Halmia , with whom he, however, also relegated to the second division at the end of the 1933/34 season. Although active again for the Swedish national team in 1934, he was not part of the squad for the World Cup tournament that took place in the same year. He later returned to Landskrona BoIS, as his old club was promoted again immediately. Here he continued to excel as a regular goalscorer and returned to the national team in 1938. In the last preparatory game six days before the first final game, he celebrated his comeback with two goals on the occasion of a 3-3 draw against Latvia . In the course of the tournament, however, he was in the shadow of Gustav Wetterström , Harry Andersson , Tore Keller , Arne Nyberg and Sven Jonasson , who dominated the attack line of the national team. Therefore, he was not used during the finals.

Until the autumn of 1938 Hansson was still active for the national team, in seven games he scored a total of six international goals. He continued to play for Landskrona BoIS on the side of Curt Bergsten , Harry Nilsson and Arthur Karlsson until the 1940s . He scored a total of 154 goals for the club and is second in the club's all-time goalscorer list behind John Nilsson .
