Misao Kodate ( Japanese 小舘 操 , Kodate Misao ; born November 16, 1961 in Sapporo ) is a former Japanese biathlete who took part in three Winter Olympics.

Misao Kodate participated in international biathlon competitions from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. He ran his first race in Lake Placid as part of the Biathlon World Championships in 1987 and was 53rd in individual and sprint. The sports soldier of the "Winter Combat Training Unit" of the Ground Self-Defense Forces took part in his first Winter Olympic Games in Calgary in 1988 . There he was used in all three races and was 40th in the individual, 39th in the sprint and 14th in the relay. Four years later , Kodate reached 28th in the singles and 36th in the sprint in Albertville . At the Biathlon World Championships in 1989 in Borovets he was only used in the relay with which he came in 20th place. The Japanese started in Lillehammer in 1994 at his third Olympic Games . In the individual he reached 62nd place, in the sprint he was 42nd in 1995 in Antholz and 1996 in Ruhpolding he again took part in biathlon world championships , but did not achieve any results worth mentioning. Kodate's best result in the Biathlon World Cup was a 14th run in the sprint, which the Japanese achieved in Ruhpolding in 1994. After the 1996 World Cup, he ended his active career.

At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , Kodate was the head coach of the Japanese biathlon team.
