The Kolibri is a dinghy for up to two people. It was manufactured by the Atlanta Boot GmbH shipyard in Weitnau ( Allgäu ) from the early 1970s until the manufacturer went bankrupt in 1978 .

Technical specifications

The Kolibri is a GRP boat with a wooden sword and a divisible aluminum mast . Due to its low weight it is very easy to trailer , it can be transported on the car roof.

The Kolibri is a good beginner's boat : not very fast, but with a stable hull and difficult to overturn . From around two Beaufort onwards, it makes good speed over the ground and starts to glide at around five winds. At the stern , the dinghy is reinforced with wood, so that a small outboard motor can be attached. A bench attached amidships and additional rudder bushings to be installed make it possible to row the boat.

The shipyard delivered the Kolibri in the colors ivory (hull) with red, blue, orange and yellow olive (deck). In the splash-proof bow space , things can be stowed away for the day trip, but the Kolibri is not designed as a traveling dinghy. The price of the boat was between 2500 and 2800 DM depending on the year of construction (ready to sail without accessories).

Other models from Atlanta Bootsbau GmbH were the Flamingo, the Koralle and the Atlanta 4.40 .
