The combined pyramid world championship 2009 was the third edition of the world championship in the pool discipline combined pyramid . It took place from February 18-21, 2009 and, like the previous two editions , was held in Almaty , Kazakhstan .

Aues Jeljubajew became world champion for the first time . The Kazakh won the final against his compatriot Alichan Karanejew 6: 5 after the defending champion had already led 3: 1 and 5: 4. Third place went to Oleksandr Palamar and Daniil Boguschewski .

The 56 participants initially competed against each other in a double knockout system . 16 players qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
