Local council
In order to promote the networking of community representatives within the federal state, the Burgenland municipal council was formed in January 2018 as part of KOMMAK. The aim is to increasingly promote cooperation with partner organizations and communities in Burgenland as well as supra-regional exchange. The project was initiated by functionaries from various communities in Burgenland. The founder of the national platform chert mayor and ÖVP country manager Christoph Wolf , Steinberg Dörfls Deputy Mayor Stefan Guczogi, Donnerskirchen councilor Gudrun Gingl, upper protecting Ortausschussmitglied Volker Karner, the Young Farmers' State Chairman Martin Öhler from Sankt Andra am Zicksee and the Jois parish council and Kommunalrat- Coordinator Sascha Krikler. The municipal council should be an open platform for participation, in which lively dialogue on various topics and an exchange of opinions and ideas takes place. An additional structure is to be created within the ÖVP network . A political function at the local level is a prerequisite for participation. During 2018, regional groups with local ambassadors were set up. In 2018, the highlight was the “Parliament of Community Representatives” with European Minister Gernot Blümel . The results of the meeting were incorporated into the program process of the People's Party in Burgenland. In the year it was founded, a total of 62 local ambassadors were appointed. These were presented in the context of mayor talks in all regions of Burgenland. In 2019, in cooperation with the FCG -Jugend, the “Eco-Social & Regional” initiative was launched, for example a dialogue event with community representatives with national councils and interest groups was organized. In this context, the views of the municipalities as well as employee and employer representatives on the issues of sustainability and the regional economy were discussed.
