The Confucius Temple ( Chinese  孔庙 , Pinyin Kǒng Miào ) in Beijing was built in 1306 and is the second largest temple for the worship of Confucius after the Confucius Temple in Qufu , the hometown of the philosopher in Shandong Province .

It is located in the northeast of the old town of Beijing, in the immediate vicinity of the former city ​​gate Andingmen and the Lama Temple . The plant has an area of ​​around 22,000 square meters. Over 300 steles with inscriptions with the names of successful examiners and some classic Confucian texts are kept in the temple . Exhibition halls present the history of Confucianism.

The Beijing Confucius Temple ( 北京 孔庙 , Beijing Kongmiao ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (3-82) since 1988 .
