from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Konrad Adolf Lattner , actually Adolf Lattner (born January 15, 1896 in Anklam ; † January 16, 1979 in Göttingen ) was a German painter who was classified as New Objectivity and , after an exhibition in 2016/2017, also as Surreal Objectivity .

Life

Konrad A. Lattner studied sculpture at the Hamburg Art School, but later turned mainly to painting, in 1919/1920 as a master student of Richard Luksch from Vienna, who taught in Hamburg . Biographical information is contradicting itself. On the one hand, Lattner is said to have been counted among the degenerate after 1933 , on the other hand he equipped the psychiatric and mental hospital of the University of Greifswald and numerous works went to the National Gallery in Berlin . The same applies to his role and situation after the war. In 1951 he left Anklam and lived in Göttingen from 1959.

Works / retrospective

Lattner's works can be found in museums in Berlin, Greifswald , Anklam, and numerous privately owned works. In 1981 his work was recognized in a retrospective by the Pomeranian State Museum / Pomeranian Foundation . In 2016/2017, three of his works were part of the exhibition Surreal Objectivity. Works from the 1920s and 1930s from the Nationalgalerie.
