Konrad Eißler

Konrad Eißler (born December 18, 1932 in Oberndorf am Neckar ) is a German Protestant theologian, non-fiction author and journalist with a pietistic character.

Life

Eißler comes from a pietistic family. His brother was the lawyer Hans Eißler , who died in 2005, and his grandfather was the theologian Wilhelm Busch . Konrad Eißler grew up in Oberndorf am Neckar, attended the Evangelical Monastery in Tübingen and studied theology in Tübingen, Hamburg and in the USA. After a traineeship at the Stuttgarter Zeitung , he took over the editorial management of the Evangelisches Gemeindeblatt for Württemberg in 1969 . In 1974 he became a pastor at the Stuttgart collegiate church .

Konrad Eißler was known as a preacher and evangelist far beyond the borders of Württemberg, and he gained a special reputation for his oratory. More than 2000 people regularly attended the Stuttgart Youth Service, which takes place four times a year and which he founded. He was chairman of the Württemberg Bible Society , long-time chairman of the YMCA State Association of Württemberg and from 1974 to 1987 board member of the YMCA Association in Germany .

Konrad Eißler wrote numerous devotional books.

After his retirement he moved in with his wife Jutta, b. Flöther, with whom he has been married since 1964, to Hülben . They have seven children together.
