Konrad Huber (painter, 1752)
Konrad Huber (also Conrad Huber ; born November 24, 1752 in Altdorf near Weingarten , † May 17, 1830 in Weissenhorn ) was a German painter who mainly worked in Swabia .
Life
In 1768 Huber joined Franz Martin Kuen's painting school in Weißenhorn and became his successor there. After Kuen's death, Huber went to Stuttgart to begin studying at the academy . There he got to know the formal language of classicism and dealt with the ideals of antiquity and baroque painting . From then on, Huber dealt with painting in church and public buildings in the Swabian region. Due to the high quality of his work in the Roggenburg library in 1781 and in the churches of Schießen and Ingstetten, Huber was called to Würzburg . There he was commissioned in 1789 to paint the church of St. Stephen . In 1815 he painted the crucifixion of Christ in the parish church of the Assumption of Mary in Lauterstein-Weißenstein .
