Konrad II of Pfeffenhausen
Konrad II von Pfeffenhausen († May 17, 1305 in Heilsbronn Monastery ) was Prince-Bishop of Eichstätt from 1297 to 1305.
Life
Konrad II came from the von Pfeffenhausen family (see also list of Bavarian noble families ), named after the place and castle Pfeffenhausen , today located in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . His father was Ulrich von Pfeffenhausen and his mother was the sister of the Regensburg bishop Heinrich II von Rotteneck . Konrad II appeared as the Eichstätter canon from 1280 . He held other offices in the diocese of Eichstätt, he was also a Regensburg canon and worked in Ludwig the Strict's office , which gave him important political connections. Count Gebhardt VI. von Hirschberg, Vogt of the Eichstätt Church, set the course so that in the event of his childlessness, the Hirschberg inheritance would go to the Eichstätt Monastery. The legacy, however, also consisted of the assumption of debts and the dispute with claims from neighboring countries that still occupied the two successors of Conrad II. Construction activities are known at the castles Nassenfels and Mörnsheim . In the summer of 1298, attacks against Jews took place from Röttingen in the diocese of Würzburg under Manegold von Neuenburg . He was buried in Eichstätter Dom , and his tomb is one of the oldest that has been preserved to this day.
