Konrad Mohr

Konrad Mohr (born May 16, 1921 in Blankenrath ; † May 15, 2010 in Koblenz ) was a German educator , university professor and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1940, Mohr initially served in the Reich Labor Service . He was then drafted into the Wehrmacht and took part in the Second World War as a soldier . After the end of the war, he began studying at the Pädagogische Akademie Bad Neuenahr and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , which he completed with a doctorate as a Dr. phil. finished. He first worked as an elementary school teacher, in 1958 lecturer and after his habilitation in 1963 professor at the College of Education Koblenz . He also worked as a development worker in Rwanda since 1986 .

Mohr joined the CDU in 1950 and was later elected chairman of the CDU district association in Koblenz.

Mohr had been a member of the Koblenz district council since 1956 and was elected chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there in 1960. From 1967 to 1979 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

From 1979 to 1986 Mohr was State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate . In this function, he was the state government representative in 1982 for the organization of the 150th anniversary of the Hambach Festival .
