Konrad Reuland (born April 4, 1987 in Springfield , Ohio , † December 12, 2016 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American football player on the tight end position . In his career he played for the San Francisco 49ers , New York Jets , Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League (NFL).
Early years
Reuland went to high school in Santa Ana , California . He then went to the University of Notre Dame to play for the college football team. In 2008 he was transferred to Stanford University .
NFL
San Francisco 49ers
In 2011, Reuland was signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers .
New York Jets
On September 1, 2012, he signed a contract with the New York Jets . Here he completed all 16 games for the Jets in the 2012 NFL season . He caught his first pass in the NFL on the second day of the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers . On November 19, 2013, he was put on the reserve list because of a knee injury.
Indianapolis Colts
On October 21, 2014 Reuland signed a contract with the Indianapolis Colts , but was released on October 30 of the same year.
Baltimore Ravens
On November 12, 2014, Reuland was added to the Baltimore Ravens Practice Squad . On December 8, 2015, he was appointed to the 53-man squad of the Ravens.
Second try at the Indianapolis Colts
On July 31, 2016, Reuland signed another contract with the Indianapolis Colts. However, he was released on August 29th.
death
On November 28, 2016, Reuland was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm , which was operated on the following day and to which he succumbed on December 12, 2016.
