Konstantin Valerjewitsch Igropulo ( Russian Константин Валерьевич Игропуло ; born April 14, 1985 in Stavropol ) is a Russian handball player .

Igropulo, whose family comes from Greece , began playing handball in 1990 at Viktor-SKA Stavropol; his first coach was Vladimir Volyntschenko.

Career

The 1.94 meter tall and 96 kilogram right back player won the Spanish championship with FC Barcelona in 2011 and 2012 and the EHF Champions League in 2011 . Before that he played with Medvedi Chekhov and Panellinios AC Athens in the EHF Champions League (2004/05, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10), in the EHF Cup (2003/04) and in the European Cup Cup winner (2005/06). From 2012 Igropulo played for the German Bundesliga club Füchse Berlin , with whom he won the DHB Cup in 2014 and the EHF Europe Cup in 2015 . From the summer of 2015 he was under contract with the Danish first division club KIF Kolding . In the summer of 2017 he joined the Belarusian club Brest GK Meschkow . With Brest GK Meschkow he won the Belarusian championship and the Belarusian Cup in 2018. After Igropulo suffered a serious knee injury in early 2018 and had to take a break, he joined the Polish first division club Wisła Płock for the 2019/20 season .

Konstantin Igropulo was part of the Russian national team for the 2014 and 2012 European handball championships .

In 2004 he was European champion and world championship third in beach handball . In 2008 he took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing with the Russian handball team.

By 2007 he graduated as a teacher of mathematics and physics at the Stavropol State University . Igropulo has been married to the Russian pop singer Marina, who performs under the name BlueMarine, since 2010.
