House convent 20a

Haus Konvent 20a is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt . It serves as the parsonage of the Evangelical St. Nikolai community .

It is located in the historic Quedlinburger Neustadt on the east side of the street Konvent and is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register as a parsonage.

Architecture and history

The house, designed in the style of a villa , was built around 1905. It shows elements of Art Nouveau and has a half-timbered ornamental gable and a bay window . Parts of the building are made of sandstone .

The property fence and the garden are also listed.

A previous building built in 1683 existed on the property. The left part of the half-timbered building was built by the Quedlinburg master carpenter Martin Lange . According to a representation by local historian Adolf Brinkmann, the inscription M. MERTEN LANGE ZM on the house referred to Lange as a master carpenter
