The Koschim ( Russian Ко́жим, Кожым Koschym ) is the largest tributary of the Kosju in the Komi Republic in northwestern Russia .
The Koschim rises in the subpolarural east of the Narodnaya , the highest peak of the Urals. It first flows through the mountains in a northerly direction, then turns to the west. Later it turns north again and finally west again, before flowing into the Kossju on the right. In the lower reaches of the Koschim flows through a swamp plain. The Koschim has a length of 202 km. It drains a 5180 km² area west of the Urals. The mean discharge (MQ) of the Koschim is 120 m³ / s. The Koschim flows through the Jugyd wa National Park . The river is used for rafting . The settlement of Koschym lies north of the river just before the confluence of the Koschim in the Kosju.
