In the 13th and 14th centuries, according to archaeological findings, there was a settlement on a peninsula on the left bank of the Chomora river , which was surrounded on three sides by swamps and closed to the north by a moat. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1589 in the register of villages burned by the Tatars. A church was built in the village in 1745 and the first school opened in 1863. In 1890 the village had 182 farms with a total of 1511 residents, including 53 Roman Catholic denominations and 40 Jews. In 1909 a brick church was built. During the First World War he gave 368 farms in the village. In 1935 a new school building was built.
Koskiw was an independent district council with an area of 46.72 km² until September 2016 and since then administratively belongs to the rural municipality of Lenkiwzi ( Ленковецька сільська громада ) in the south of Shepetivka district .
