The Slutsch ( Ukrainian Случ ) is a river in Ukraine with a length of 451 km and a catchment area of 13,800 km². It is a right tributary of the Horyn and belongs to the catchment area of ​​the Dnieper . The Slutsch rises in the Chmelnyzkyj Oblast , then flows through the Zhytomyr Oblast and flows into the Horyn in the Rivne Oblast shortly before the Ukrainian-Belarusian border .

Shortly after its source near the city of Volochysk , the Slutsch forms two lakes. Then it flows through Starokostjantyniw and passes the oblast border.

He passes the city of Baranivka . Shortly before Nowohrad-Wolynskyj the small river Tnia and the somewhat larger Smilka flow into the Slutsch . After a few kilometers, he passes the oblast border for the second time.

The Slutsch continues through the cities of Beresne and Sarny . Shortly afterwards it flows into the Horyn , which later flows into the Pripyat .
