Koulikoira (also: Kouli Koira , Kouli Kouara ) is a village in the rural municipality of Gothèye in Niger .

The village, led by a traditional local chief ( chef traditionnel ), is located around eight kilometers east of Gothèye, the capital of the rural community of the same name, which belongs to the Gothèye department in the Tillabéri region. Koulikoira is located on the Dargol River , a few kilometers from its confluence with the Niger River .

At the 2012 census, Koulikoira had 5,413 inhabitants who lived in 735 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 4,695 in 575 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 1972 in 271 households.

Koulikoira is a Songhai settlement. Relatively many Djesseré live here , a special kind of storyteller who passes on historical traditions in long lectures. In the village there is a Center de Santé Intégré, a simple health center that was expanded through donations from the population. The aid organization World Vision operated a center against malnutrition in the village during the drought of 2012. The market day of the weekly market in Koulikoira is Wednesday. Mainly mats are traded, which are used for fences called tatara , as well as vegetables such as onions and potatoes, which are grown on the river.
