First ascent | by locals |
The Kratzer is a 2,428 m high multi-peaked mountain in the Allgäu Alps . It is located southwest of the Kemptner Hütte . From Oberstdorf it gives the impression of a rock ruin.
No marked path leads to the scratch. The slightest ascent is from the south over Schrofengelände and requires surefootedness and agility. The more difficult climbing tours through the north face of the Kratzer are rarely done, also due to the fragile rock.
