history

Krawinkel was first mentioned in documents in 1351 as Crawinkil , as a place in the Krähenwinkel, when the Bibra monastery received this place from the bailiffs of Weida . The noble family Krahwinkel named themselves after the place . In 1454 the upper and lower courts in the village and field belonged to the owner of Kirchscheidungen, Heinrich von Wildenfels , who was then in Cologne.

The spelling of the place name was Krohwingkel , Krohewingkel and Krohewinckel according to the official inheritance book of 1550 . Thirteen possessed men lived in the village at that time, including two hookers. These men were directly subordinate to the Electoral Saxon Office Eckartsberga . The other people were subordinate to those of Rockhausen on church divisions and those of Hessler and were in part also lendable to the chapter on Bibra and the Mergenthal Monastery . The other part of Krawinkel belonged to the Freyburg Electoral Office .

Lieutenants and collators of the parish of Krawinkel were also those of Rockhausen on church divisions. Later the place fell to the von der Schulenburg on castle divisions. In 1815 the place came to Prussia and in 1816 it was incorporated into the Eckartsberga district.

Until June 30, 2009, Krawinkel was part of the Golzen community . This was incorporated into the city of Bad Bibra on July 1, 2009.
