Thalwinkel is a district of the city of Bad Bibra in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Thalwinkel is located in the Saale-Unstrut-Triasland nature reserve between Weimar and Halle (Saale) .

history

There is no precise information about the first mention of the place. The first documentary mention of Thalwinkel took place in 1326. The place probably existed before 1290, when it was first mentioned as a property of church divisions . Together with Tröbsdorf , Thalwinkel belonged to the Burgscheidungen Zinsdörfern after 1326 and is therefore closely linked to the history of Burgscheidungen Castle . Until 1815 the place belonged to the Wettin , later Electoral Saxon office of Freyburg . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna he came to Prussia and in 1816 the county Querfurt in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th

On July 1, 2009, Thalwinkel and its Bergwinkel district were incorporated into Bad Bibra. The last mayor was Hartmut Spengler.

Buildings

  • The Thalwinkel church was rebuilt in 1734, which was built by the parish with the financial support of the royal Sardinian general witness Levin Friedrich von der Schulenburg on Burgscheidungen . Pastor Wichmann directed the construction of the new church and the construction of a parsonage. The choir tower dates from the late Romanesque period. Inside the church is an old baroque wooden baptismal font from the 18th century. Above the altar there is an unadorned wooden baroque pulpit. In the tower hangs a medieval three-ring bell, the big and small bells from 1350, the middle bell from the early 15th century (it probably comes from the chapel of Warthau , a village between Golzen and Thalwinkel near Golzen which was already desolate in 1575) and from Gunther was cast from Weimar.
  • In the churchyard on the slope there is a war memorial for 1870/71 (which was created after 1881) as well as individual baroque tombs.
  • The schoolhouse built in 1795 and the parish hall from 1797 in the lower village are also interesting.
