Kredenbach district

history

Kredenbach gained importance through the trade route from Vienna to Amsterdam and the village was home to the stagecoach station and later the Esselbach post office, which was both a hostel and a horse exchange point for travelers.

The area of the Spessart robbers also began here and the inn in the Spessart is still to the northwest .

In 1862 the district office of Marktheidenfeld was formed, on whose administrative area Kredenbach was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Kredenbach was now one of the 47 communities in the Marktheidenfeld district (license plate MAR ). With the dissolution of the district of Marktheidenfeld in 1972, Kredenbach came into the newly formed district of Main-Spessart (license plate KAR , from 1979 MSP ).

Kredenbach has belonged to Esselbach since the municipal reform that took effect on May 1, 1978 . The village to the Evangelical parish of Michelrieth is parish , where the church and the cemetery are also located.
