history

Kreissparkasse Börde has various predecessor institutions in what is now the district and business area. The beginnings go back to 1840.

On July 1, 1840, the Stadt- und Kreissparkasse Haldensleben was founded. The residents of the city and the surrounding area were able to invest their savings safely. In 1951 it was transferred to the district from its double guarantor and was called Kreissparkasse Haldensleben until December 31, 1994.

On July 20, 1849, the Sparkasse was opened in Wolmirstedt . First as a private savings bank by the businessman Ferdinand Gosselmann. On July 7, 1855, the Kreissparkasse Wolmirstedt was founded.

Going back to a decree from 1854, the Stadtsparkasse Oschersleben opened on August 1, 1857 . In Oschersleben itself there were initially no rooms for the savings bank. The district office was in Schwanebeck. The savings bank was housed in the town hall there until 1859, before it had its own business premises in Oschersleben. In 1888 the savings bank became the Kreissparkasse.

The Stadtsparkasse opened in Wanzleben on March 1, 1869, followed by the Wanzleben district savings bank on January 2, 1903. On July 29, 1936, the two savings banks merged into one institute, the Kreissparkasse Wanzleben.

On July 1, 1995, the Kreissparkasse Haldensleben and the Kreissparkasse Wolmirstedt merged to form the Ohrekreis-Sparkasse and the Kreissparkasse Oschersleben and the Kreissparkasse Wanzleben to form the Bördesparkasse.

In the course of the district reform in 2007, the Ohrekreis-Sparkasse and the Bördesparkasse were merged on July 1, 2008 to form today's Kreissparkasse Börde.

Social Commitment

The social commitment of the Kreissparkasse Börde includes extensive donation and sponsoring measures, events, specialist lectures for customers and the Sparkasse Gala.

In its business area, Kreissparkasse Börde supports more than 300 projects in the fields of culture, youth work, sport, environmental protection and business every year. It provided a total of 463 thousand euros for this in 2014. The beneficiaries include B. the KULTUR-Landschaft Haldensleben-Hundisburg eV , the music schools, the Kreissportbund Börde and many other clubs.
