The Kreuzwandspitze is a 3031 m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks of the Glockner group in East Tyrol . The first ascent of the summit is not recorded, the first documented ascent over the south-south-east ridge and the south-west ascent was carried out by Th. And B. Hinrichsen on July 27, 1965.

The Kreuzwandspitze is located in the south of the Glockner Group in the core zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park and in the northeast of the municipality of Kals am Großglockner . The Kreuzwandspitze has a wide east wall (Kreuzwand) and a long south-southeast ridge (Kastenschneid), on the Innerer Kasten ( 2732 m above sea level ), Hoher Guldanoa ( 2777 m above sea level ) and Outer Kasten ( 2519 m above sea level ) . ) lie. The Kristallschartl separates the Kreuzwandspitze from the Kristallspitzl ( 3005 m above sea level ). Southeast of the Kreuzwandspitze lies the Kar Tschadinpfohl with the slopes of the Upper, Middle and Lower Beil. The valley of the Teischnitzbach extends to the west . The closest refuges are the Kalser Tauernhaus in the Kalser Dorfertal to the west and the Stüdlhütte to the east, high above the Teischnitzbach valley .
Promotion opportunities
The normal route to the Kreuzwandspitze leads from the road to the Moaralm in the Kalser valley , first on the footpath into the Teischnitz valley . Shortly before a bridge over the Teischnitzbach, the ascent leads into the south-facing Kar Tschadinepfohl and over the slopes of Unteres , Mittleres and Oberes Beil to a distinctive rubble channel through which one reaches the pre-summit of the Kreuzwandspitze. The transition to the main summit has a short climbing section ( I ). Alternatively, the ascent to the Kreuzwandspitze can also be made via the south-south-east ridge from the Hohen Guldanoa and via the Innere Kasten ( I ).
