Krikor Hindié

Krikor Hindié , also Gregorio Hindié , full name Grégoire Georges Camille Hindié , (born February 20, 1891 in Aleppo , Syria , † April 17, 1967 in Rome ) was the Armenian Catholic Archbishop of Aleppo .

Life

Krikor Hindié was ordained priest for the Armenian Catholic Church on March 25, 1917 . His appointment as Archbishop of Aleppo took place on August 10, 1933. The Patriarch of Cilicia Archbishop Avedis Bedros XIV. Arpiarian and the co-consecrators Archbishop Jean Naslian (former Archbishopric Trabzon in Turkey ) and Archbishop Jacques Nessimian ( Iskanderia in Egypt ) donated to him on August 29th October 1933 the episcopal ordination . He resigned on May 10, 1952 and was named titular archbishop of Pedachtoë at the same time . As the old archbishop of Aleppo, he was appointed professor of the Armenians in Rome and held this office until his death on April 17, 1967.

Archbishop Hindié was co-consecrator with Seraphin Uluhogian CAM, the Abbot General of the Mechitarists , titular Archbishop of Chersonesus in Zechia and with Garabed Amadouni as Titular Bishop of Amathus in Cypro , the Apostolic Exarch of Sainte-Croix-de-Paris ( France ).
