Rennemo made his World Cup debut in March 2009 in Trondheim in the 50 km mass start race in the classic technique, which he finished in 42nd place. He reached his first World Cup points on March 6, 2010 in Lahti with 14th place in the skiathlon . A day later he won his only World Cup race as the final runner with the second Norwegian relay. On a stage of the Tour de Ski held as a skiathlon , he also finished 5th on January 1, 2012 and in March of the same year reached 12th place in the 50 km mass start race at Holmenkollen in Oslo in the Scandinavian Cup, in which he has won three races so far , he took first place in the 2009/10 season and second place in the overall standings in 2011/12 . In March 2012 he won the Storlirennet over 36 km freestyle.
