Kristin Mürer Stemland (born January 8, 1981 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Stemland was able to take fifth place in the sprint at the 2001 Junior World Championships in Karpacz , after she had already received a brief assignment at the Cross-Country Skiing World Cup in Oslo in 2000 . During the two following seasons, 2001/02 and 2002/03, she mainly competed in FIS races and in the Continental Cup . After she had achieved top positions in the international comparative races taking place shortly before the start of the season, she was an integral part of the Norwegian World Cup team in the 2003/04 season. She was almost always able to place in the points and achieved first placings in the top ten. She was also able to celebrate her first season win this season. In the following season 2004/05 she took part again continuously in the World Cup, but missed the points several times. A tenth place in the pursuit race in Pragelato in January remained her best result of the season. In February 2005 she took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf and finished 22nd and 26th over 10 km and 30 km. In the following winter 2005/06 she was able to place in the top ten several times in the World Cup and finally took part in the Olympic 2006 Winter Games in Turin . A twelfth place over 10 km was her best individual Olympic result. The Norwegian relay, which Stemland also belonged to, finished fifth. After the Olympic Games, she took part in the Wasalauf , which took place as part of the World Cup , and was able to take 15th place. In the following season 2006/07 she could only achieve mediocre results in the World Cup. At the Tour de Ski , which was held for the first time , she achieved 28th place in the overall standings. She also took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo , where she was 19th over 10 km. In 2007/08 she was able to improve her performance a little and again make it into the top ten several times. At the relay competition in Davos at the beginning of December , she was able to celebrate the second relay victory of her career. In the overall ranking of the Tour de Ski, she improved to 26th place. Although she always reached places in the points at the beginning of the 2008/09 season, she moved to the second-rate Scandinavian Cup from mid-December. In this she competed until the end of the season and was able to win several races and finally secure second place in the overall cup standings. In addition, she also took part in some of the FIS races held in Norway. After the Norwegian elite team was downsized for the 2009/2010 season , Stemland only belonged to the B team. That is why she only started at two World Cups taking place in Norway, at the season opener in Beitostølen and at the end of the season in Oslo . During the rest of the season she started only in the Scandinavian Cup and FIS races, with only good results in FIS races.
