Kristjan Sokoli (* 24. September 1991 in Tirana ) is an American American football poker players with Albanian roots. He plays in the position of defensive tackle , most recently for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL). He is the first Albanian in the NFL.

college

At the University at Buffalo , Sokoli played on the defensive line between 2011 and 2014 . There he played in a total of 33 games in which he set a total of 95 tackles , scored 2.5 sacks and forced a fumble .

NFL

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks selected Sokoli as the 215th player in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft . There he was retrained from the trainer of the offensive line , Tom Cable , to the position of the center . In the game against the Arizona Cardinals , he was used for the first time in eight snaps as a special teamer . He was released on August 30, 2016.

Indianapolis Colts

In September 2016, the Indianapolis Colts signed Sokoli as a defensive end for their practice squad . On December 19, he was included in the active squad, but remained without use. He was released in June 2017.

New Orleans Saints

On July 25, 2017, Sokoli was signed by the New Orleans Saints and shortly thereafter placed on the Practice Squad. He was released on September 6, 2017.

New York Giants

On December 27, 2017, the New York Giants signed Sokoli for their Practice Squad. On January 1, 2018, he signed a new contract. On August 11, 2018, Sokoli was placed on the Injured Reserve List by the Giants after tearing a cruciate ligament in the first preseason game.
