Kristy Augustin (* 6. February 1979 in Wriezen ) is a German politician of the CDU . She has been a member of the Brandenburg state parliament since 2014 .

After graduating from the comprehensive school in Letschin and spending a year abroad in the US state of Minnesota , Augustin began studying journalism and communication studies at the Free University of Berlin as well as film studies and art history. In 2007 she finished her studies with a Magistra Artium . During her studies she worked as an assistant in the project management of a company for corporate communications and as a consultant at the press office of the parliamentary group of the Brandenburg CDU .

In 2005 Augustin joined the CDU, where she has held the office of the local association chairman in Letschin since 2010 and that of the district association chairman in the Märkisch-Oderland district since 2014 . From 2007 to 2009 she worked for the Bundestag member Katherina Reiche as an electoral district employee, after she rose to the position of parliamentary state secretary in the Merkel II cabinet , Augustin was the office manager of Reiche. After the reign she moved to the state parliament member Barbara Richstein as an electoral district employee .

In the state elections in 2014 , Augustin ran unsuccessfully for the direct mandate in the Märkisch-Oderland IV constituency , but moved into parliament via the state list because Christian Ehler waived his mandate . On May 30, 2015, she was elected regional chairwoman of the Women's Union . Since the local elections in May 2019 , she has been a member of the Märkisch-Oderland district council and a member of the Letschin municipal council.

In the 2019 state election , Augustin ran again for the direct mandate in the Märkisch-Oderland IV constituency; again it moved into the state parliament via the state list.
