Krisztina Fazekas-Zur - in Hungarian notation Fazekas-Zur Krisztina - (born August 1, 1980 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian - American canoe sprinter who has been on the success lists since the mid-2000s. She won thirteen medals at the Canoe World Championships , including eight gold medals (K-1 4 × 200 m: 2013, K-4 200 m: 2001 , K-4 500 m: 2006 , 2013, 2017, K-4 1000 m: 2003 , 2007 ) and five silver medals (K-1 4 × 200 m: 2009 , K-4 200 m: 2007, 2009, K-4 500 m: 2007; K-1 1000 m: 2011 ).

Krisztina Fazekas-Zur won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the four-kayak (K4) 500 m discipline with Gabriella Szabó , Danuta Kozák and Katalin Kovács for Hungary and the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the four-kayak (K4) 500 m with Gabriella Szabó , Danuta Kozák and Tamara Csipes .

Krisztina Fazekas-Zur is married to her trainer Rami Zur , a former Olympic canoeist for Israel and the United States. She lives in California and represented the United States in sports in 2011, but took part in the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics for Hungary, where she won the gold medal.

In addition to the canoe competitions, she takes part in stand-up paddling events and won the short-distance disciplines over 200 meters in the inflatable and open classes on May 30, 2013 at the Kleiner Brombachsee at the "Lost Mills" event . In the long-distance competition on June 1, 2013 over 18 kilometers, she took second place.
