The Krummbach is a right tributary of the Cunnersdorfer water in Saxony.
course
The Krummbach rises at a height of 374 m at the southern end of the forest hoof village Ottenhain in the municipality of Kottmar . After merging with the right tributary Flössel , the stream continues to flow through the village to the northwest, where it feeds two ponds. After leaving the village in the north, it crosses the newly built bypass road B 178n and unites a little later with the Cunnersdorfer Wasser east of Großschweidnitz . It has a total length of 5 km.
environment
Characteristic of the Krummbach is the natural course in the lower section of the river, where no settlements can be found. There is an old stock of willow , maple and poplar trees throughout . The upper course runs almost exclusively through Ottenhain, where it is a classic village stream .
The originally fish-rich stream in Ottenhain has been heavily polluted by industrial companies since the middle of the 19th century, so that the fish population declined sharply. Its water power was previously used to drive several mills. Today the water has again achieved quality class II.
